Research

My research investigates how digital technology can reimagine public history and expand access to cultural heritage. I focus on virtual museums, interactive 3D reconstructions, and community-driven archives in the U.S. Southwest and borderlands. By integrating data visualization, GIS mapping, and ethical digitization practices, I aim to craft historical narratives that are both inclusive and engaging for diverse audiences.

Teaching

I view lectures as opportunities to model expert thinking and clarify complex ideas, building a strong intellectual foundation for students. From this base, I encourage critical engagement through discussion, writing, and applied projects. My teaching balances structured guidance with interactive learning, helping students navigate challenging material with confidence while fostering curiosity, reflection, and active participation.

Creative

I create kinetic sculptures that invite steel, wood, and glass to dance with air, vibration, and subtle human presence. Inspired by the mechanics of insect wings, the swings of old clocks, and everyday rituals, my work transforms unnoticed movements into rhythms that reveal the hidden choreography of place. Each piece encourages quiet observation and playful interaction, turning the ordinary into a site of wonder.
